2008 Awards for North
Winner - Star Salon Award - Motiv8 2008
This award is nominated by the apprentices to the best all round salon for team work, atmosphere, outstanding service etc.
Nomination - LSC Apprentice of the Year Award
The Apprenticeship Awards are held annually and hosted by the Learning and Skills Council, who manage and fund apprenticeships in England. The Apprentice of the Year Award seeks to acknowledge and celebrate apprentices’ exceptional contributions to their workplace.
Mathilde Heather has made it through to the final being held on 10th July at the Royal Horticultural Halls in central London.

December saw the first North awards evening and the lucky winners were:
- Chelsea - The Best Washer Upper Award
- Sally Trump - The Most Improved and Consistent Award
- Laura Wilkins - The North Commitment Award

Mathidle Heather Awarded ‘Level II National Student of The Year Award 2007’
North is extremely proud to announce that Mathilde Heather won the 'Level II UK Hairdressing Student of The Year' award, sponsored by L’Oréal and City & Guilds, at an event held at the Salon International Exhibition in London ExCel from 13-15 October 2007.
Each year the Hairdressing Council holds this prestigious competition, which recognises the skills, commitment and ambition of young hairdressers across the country, who have been nominated by their colleges or training centres and have already completed a portfolio about themselves and their goals in the hairdressing industry.
The Hairdressing Council received over 200 entries, from which only 12 finalists were selected. These finalists consisted of Level II and Level NVQ III hairdressing apprentices who were judged by a panel of experts at the L’Oréal International Centre in Hammersmith. Each finalist was interviewed and marked on their practical efforts, and the results were then announced at Salon International in London ExCel.
Mathilde was also the winner of the Motiv8 'Newcomer of the Year Award' earlier this year.
